Ode to the Great Depression Two

After the stock market lost the most points in history gives me the impression

That we are inching closer to another Great Depression.

This pandemic is a once in a lifetime event that is a rarity,

But what’s happening now and what happened around the 1920’s has too many similarities.

Back then, the world had to deal with the Spanish Flu of 1918.

Now, we are faced with a new virus called Covid-19.

Back then, people stood in line for food.

Now, people are lined up in cars for food.

Back then, the US President that caused the collapse was Herbert Hoover

Who left a stench over the country that was so bad it smelled worse than nail polish remover.

His Presidency was definitely subpar.

He messed up so much stuff that America voted four times for FDR.

Now, our President is Donald J. Trump.

Every move that he has made during the crisis has proven that he is completely stumped.

Remember when he said that the coronavirus was “a hoax” and that it’s “like the flu.”

Now, he looks like he doesn’t have a clue on what to do.

Then, he claimed that Covid-19 would miraculously go away,

But this virus looks like it is here to stay.

He claimed that very few people in America would die of this disease.

Then, after over 60,000 people have passed away, he says that it’s a “success” and seems to be pleased.

He claimed that the possible solution would be hydroxychloroquine,

But clinical studies showed that this drug works on other diseases and should be abandoned.

He actually suggested that people should inject Lysol.

He’s blabbing every day like a woman on her period – please give this man a Midol.

Since America is designated as the modern-day Babylon,

It’s appropriate that we have a President that just babbles on.

History always repeats itself; under the sun, nothing is new.

Prepare yourself so that you will be able to help others during the Great Depression II.
